Why did I receive a "Make this correspondence public?" prompt when creating or editing an item?

Answer

This confirmation modal acts as a security guardrail to prevent accidental disclosure of sensitive project information.

It appears when unticking the Private tickbox on a correspondence item whose correspondence type has been set to Private by default by a Project Administrator.

  • Click Make public: Confirms that the item should be made visible to everyone with permission to view the Correspondence tool.

  • Click Cancel: Closes the prompt and keeps the item marked as Private.
