Attach Files to a Site Diary (Android)

Objective

To view and attach files to a site diary entry from your Android mobile device. 

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Site Diary tool.
  • Additional Information:
    • This asset or item can be viewed or edited in offline mode provided that it was previously viewed and cached on your mobile device.
    • You can add an attachment to the following Site Diary sections:
      • Equipment 
      • Deliveries
      • Inspections
      • Safety Violations 
      • Accidents 
      • Manpower 
      • Weather 

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Site Diary tool using the Procore app on an Android mobile device.
  2. Tap the date to select the calendar day you want to view a log for. 
  3. Tap the entry to which you want to add an attachment or add a new entry. See Add a Site Diary Item.
  4. Tap the Edit   icon-edit-android.png  icon.
  5. Tap Attachments to add a file or photo.
  6. Select one of the following options:
    • Attachments: Tap the Attachments field. Choose one of the following options:

      • Files from Device: Tap to select files from your device's Files. 
        • Tap the file you want to add to the entry.
          Note: This action will attach the item(s).
      • Photos from Device: Tap to select one or more photos from your device's Gallery.
        1. Tap the photo(s) you want to add to the entry.
        2. Tap Done.
      • Photos from Procore: Tap to select one or more photos from Procore's Photos tool in the project.
        1. Tap the album that contains the photo(s) you want to include on the entry.
          OR
          Tap Create New Album to add a new photo album to the project.
          Note: You will need 'Standard' or 'Admin' permissions to the Site Diary tool to create an album.
        2. Tap the photo(s) you want to attach.
        3. Tap OK.
      • Camera: Tap to capture a new photo or video. 
        • Take a photo by positioning your device's camera and tapping the circle icon.
          Optional: 
          • Tap the time stamp icon to to turn time stamp on or off.
          • Tap the geotag button to turn geotagging off or on.
            Note: The geotag button will only appear if you have Location Services off or if you have not accepted location tracking permissions on your device. Geotag information cannot be viewed in Procore, but it can be referenced in the file's properties after downloading the photo to a computer.
          • Tap the video icon to switch to video mode. 
            Note: Videos will only record up to 15 seconds.
          • Tap the microphone icon to turn your device's microphone on or off while in video mode.
          • After you take a photo, you can mark up the photo using the markup icons on the top of the screen.
        • Tap Save.
        • Tap Done.
  7. Tap Save.
