Edit a Company Permissions Template
Objective
To edit a company permissions template.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Admin' level permissions on the company's Permissions tool.
- You can grant task-based permissions, called granular permissions, on supported Procore tools. See Grant Granular Permissions in a Company Permissions Template.
Prerequisites
Steps
You can perform the following actions when editing a permissions template:
- Edit Template. Configure permissions for each Company level tool.
- Manage Assignable Templates. Configure which Company level permissions templates users assigned to this permissions template can assign to other users, if they have the appropriate permissions. See What is an assignable permissions template?
- Manage Users. View which users are assigned to this permission template, reassign them to a different project permissions template or set their current permissions template as their default permissions template.
- Rename a Template.
- Delete a Template.
- Duplicate a Template.
Edit Template
- Navigate to the company's Permissions tool.
- Click the Company Permissions Templates tab.
- Next to the permissions template, click Actions and select 'Edit Template'.
- On the 'Edit Template' page, click the pencil icon to change the permissions template's name or see Rename a Company Permissions Template.
- For each Company level Procore tool row in the table, select the button under one of the following columns:
- None. Grants no access to the Procore tool. This is the default setting for all Company level tools (except the company's Portfolio tool) on newly created permission templates.
- Read Only. Grants read-only access to the Procore tool. This is the default setting for the company's Portfolio tool. When this option is selected for a tool that supports granular permissions, the tool's granular permissions options display. See Grant Granular Permissions in a Company Permissions Template.
- Standard. Grants standard access to the Procore tool. When this option is selected for a tool that supports granular permissions, the tool's granular permissions options display. See Grant Granular Permissions in a Company Permissions Template.
- Admin. Grants admin access to the Procore tool.
Tip
- To make users with this permissions template a Company Administrator, select 'Admin' permissions for the Company level Directory tool. This gives them 'Admin' level permissions for all Company level tools and Project level tools for projects that they are added to.

- Click Save and select Save or Save & Return to Company Permissions.
Manage Assignable Templates
- Navigate to the company's Permissions tool.
- Click the Company Permissions Templates tab.
- Next to the permission template, click Actions.
- Select Manage Assignable Company Templates or Manage Assignable Default Project Templates.
- Mark the tickboxes next the templates you want users with the permissions template you are editing to be able to assign to others. See What is an assignable permissions template?
- Click Save and select Save, Save & Return to Edit Template, or Save & Return to Company Permissions.
Manage Users
- Navigate to the company's Permissions tool.
- Click the Company Permissions Templates tab.
- Next to the permissions template, click Actions and select 'Manage Users'.
- On the 'Manage Users' page:
Option 1: Click Actions next to the user you want to reassign to a different company permissions template and select 'Reassign'.
OR
Option 2: Select the tickbox for one or more users, click Bulk Actions and select 'Reassign' to reassign multiple users at the same time. - In the 'Are you sure you want to reassign the following user(s)?' window, click Confirm.
- On the 'Reassign Permissions Template' page, click Reassign to Template next to the template you want to reassign to the user.
