Procore

2020

Below are the notable changes to the project's Commitments tool in 2020.

Improved Search now includes the Commitments Tool (14/9/2020)

Procore has updated its search capabilities to provide users with more powerful and efficient search results. Procore's project search now looks at the following fields for matches when you perform a search for variations: Number (#), Title, and Description. See Search for Items Within a Project Using Procore Search.

Sidebar Removed from Commitments Tool (11/8/2020)

Procore has removed the right sidebar from the project's Commitments tool. This update is part of a larger design effort to progressively remove the sidebar from all Procore tools to increase the amount of available space for each page. For details, see Commitments: Removed Sidebar from Commitments Tool.

Sliding Scale Retention Now Available in All Countries (7/8/2020)

Procore's Sliding Scale Retention feature is now available to Procore customers in all countries. This feature was initially released in January 2020 to Procore customers in Australia. For details on this follow-up release, see Commitments: Sliding Scale Retention Now Available in All Countries.

Units of Measure Now Carry Over to New Commitments, CVs and CPVs (5/5/2020)

As a follow-up enhancement to the March 2020 release of the Consistent & Custom Units of Measure feature, Procore has been updated so that the Unit Cost, Unit Qty and UoM values on a change event line item are now carried over to a newly created Commitment, Commitment Variation (CV) and Commitment Potential Variation (CPV).  To learn more about the Consistent & Custom Units of Measure release, see Financial Management: Consistent & Custom Units of Measure.

Consistent & Custom Units of Measure (31/3/2020)

If your organisation uses a Unit of Measure (UoM) that is not already in Procore's Unit of Measure Master List, you can add a custom unit of measure. For example, you might want to add the unit of measurement: gallon (gal) to give your users the ability to add items for fuel and/or liquid costs in one of Procore's Project Financials tools. With this update, you'll greater flexibility and improved consistency, particularly for users in specialised trades who require additional units of measure. See Add a Unit of Measure to the Unit of Measure Master List.

Working Days for Due Dates on RFQs Created from Change Events (9/3/2020)

With the newly added ability to configure which days are classified as 'working days' in a project, due dates for RFQs will now depend on the project's 'working days'. To learn about this feature, see Set Project Working Days. To learn how to change the setting for the RFQs that you create from a Change Event related to commitments, the setting is in the Commitments tool. See Configure Settings: Commitments.

Enable Sliding Scale Retention Settings on a Commitment's Payment Applications (14/1/2020)

Using new controls in the Advanced Settings tab of a commitment, Procore users in Australia can now enable up to five (5) unique sliding scale rules on a purchase order or subcontract. Once saved, your settings will automatically adjust retention amounts on your project's subcontractor payment applications. To learn more, see Commitments: Configure Sliding Scale Retention Settings on Subcontractor Payment applications.

Enhanced Financial Line Item Experience (7/1/2020)

To provide you with a more modern and consistent data-entry for financial line items, Procore has released an enhanced  experience for these Project Financial tools: Change Events, Commitments, Direct Costs, and Main Contracts. For details, see Project Financials: Enhanced Financial Line Item Experience.
