Change a User's Permissions
Objective
To change a user's permission levels on the Project level tools in Procore.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Directory tool.
OR - 'Standard' or 'Read Only' permissions on the project's Directory tool with the 'Manage Permission Templates (Assignable Only)' granular permission enabled on your permission template.
- 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Directory tool.
- Additional Information:
- If you have a large number of Procore users, we recommend that you use Role-Based Permissions instead of editing each individual user's permissions. See Manage Permission Templates.
- If you have 'Admin' level permission on the Company level Directory tool, you can alternatively follow the steps in Change a Project User's Permission Template.
- Once you change or set permissions for a user, the change in permission will be effective immediately the next time they log in or refresh the page.
- Limitations:
- You cannot change your own permissions, unless your user account has 'Admin' level permission on the Company level Admin tool.
