Recordkeeping Classifications for Incidents
Procore has released an update to the project's Incidents tool. This update is designed to satisfy recordkeeping and reporting requirements by giving your project users the ability to mark Incidents and/or injury/illness records as reportable.
Included in this update:
- Added a 'Reportable' tickbox to the New Incident and Edit Incident pages.
- Added a 'Reportable' tickbox that appears when adding or editing an injury/illness record.
- Removed 'Reportable' as a selection from the Filing Type drop-down list.
- Added 'Restricted Work' as a selection in the Filing Type drop-down list.
When this update is deployed, the following will occur automatically on any incidents or injury/illness records that have the 'Filing Type' set to Reportable:
- The tick will automatically appear in the new Reportable tickbox.
- The Filing Type drop-down list in the record will be set to blank.
What is a reportable injury or illness?
Depending upon the country you are in, a regulatory or governing body may require your organisation to keep specific records about work-related incidents, injuries and illnesses that occur on a job site. For example, in many countries, contractors and employers may be required by law to document any incidents and/or injuries/illnesses that require medical treatment. In the construction industry, these types of incidents and injuries/illnesses are often referred to as 'reportable' or 'notifiable' incidents.
