Where and how does Procore store customer information?
Answer
Data stored on the Procore Platform is currently divided into two categories: File Data and Application Data.
File Data includes all documents, photos, drawings, specifications, models and any other attachments.
Application Data includes anything written to our data stores. The data includes:
- System-generated metadata (for example, the creator of an item, time stamps or logs).
- Anything entered via the keyboard (for example, information entered in the Directory tool).
- Anything entered into user input fields via the Procore API or other import processes.
File Data
File Data includes all documents, photos, drawings, specifications, models and other types of files. File Data is stored on a Procore Data Zone, enabling customers to organise and share files within a single preferred Data Zone. Procore offers Data Zones across 15 countries for selection by the Customer.
Procore helps ensure resilience and data availability by maintaining real-time backups and replicating data across multiple data centres within the selected Zone. File Data is stored with a designated Cloud Storage provider. This redundancy helps protect your operations from disruptions caused by natural disasters, electrical failures or other unforeseen events, helping ensure maximum uptime and continuous access to your data.
In Procore, the File Data Location field identifies the geographical region in which your file data is stored. You can find this field on the Company Settings > General Settings page in the Company level Admin tool in the Storage Location section.
Procore currently supports a number of file storage profiles:
- Australia: apse2
- Bahrain: me01
- Brazil: sa01
- Canada: ca01
- France: fr01
- Germany: de01
- Hong Kong: ape01
- Ireland: ie01
- Italy: it01
- Korea: apne02
- Singapore: apse01
- South Africa: af01
- Sweden: se01
- United Kingdom: uk01
- United States: us01 (default)
- United States: us02
Application Data
All other user input data, meaning anything entered into a form in the Procore application or system-generated, is considered Application Data. Application Data includes anything written to our data stores and includes:
- System-generated metadata (for example, the creator of an item, time stamps or logs).
- Anything entered via the keyboard (for example, information entered in the Directory tool).
- Anything entered into user input fields via the Procore API or other import processes.
Application Data is stored on Procore Application Zones, which provides both application storage and processing and delivers the overall user experience.

Zone Benefits
- Flexible Data Hosting and Compliance. Host your File Data in your desired location with Data Zones. Select a file data location in any supported country to help improve file download performance.
- Data Replication. Procore helps ensure your data is always available by leveraging file storage services hosted by major cloud providers. We continuously replicate all files in Procore Data Zones across at least three data centres in the same Zone. This redundancy helps ensure that natural disasters, electrical failures or other unforeseen circumstances won't disrupt your company's operations.
- Secure Storage and Controls of File And Application Data. Procore uses enterprise-grade encryption to help protect information from unintended exposure and confidentiality. Strict security controls, including access controls and change management workflows, help ensure that only authorized users can access or modify files. Additionally, audit logging provides transparency into the history and changes of each file, helping ensure data integrity.
