2019

Below are the notable changes to the project's Submittals tool in 2019.

New Granular Permission to View Private Submittals Associated to Users within Same Company (29/10/2019)

Procore has added a new granular permission to allow users to view a submittal marked 'Private' if another user in their company is the submittal's creator or is designated as the Submittal Manager, a Submitter, an Approver or a Distribution List member. See Grant Granular Permissions in a Permission Template.

'Dynamic Approver Due Dates' Configuration Setting for Submittals (2/10/2019)

When the 'Dynamic Approver Due Dates' setting is enabled and a submittal's workflow includes multiple users and one or more users update their responses early or late, the system will automatically adjust the due dates for any remaining users in the workflow. See Configure Settings: Submittals Tool.

New Granular Permissions to Create Submittal Items and Packages (25/9/2019)

Procore has added new granular permissions for creating submittal items and submittal packages on the Submittals tool. See Grant Granular Permissions in a Permission Template.

Added a 'Private' Filter Option (6/8/2019)

Updated the Submittals tool to add 'Private' as a filter on the Submittals tool to show which Items or Packages have been labelled as 'Private.' See Search for and Filter Submittals.

Added Cost Code and Sub Jobs to Bulk Actions > Edit Menu (25/7/2019)

You can now modify submittals in a back using the new Cost Code and Sub Job menu options in the Bulk Actions > Edit menu. See Use Bulk Actions > Edit in the Submittals Tool

Introducing the Submittals Export Manager (17/6/2019)

When exporting a submittal, users can now have the ability to combine the cover sheet and other attachments into a single PDF. Users can also now rearrange these attachments so they are merged into the PDF in the order you specify. This saves users a number of extra steps they used to take to manually assemble PDFs using third-party PDF software. You can alternatively combine your selected attachments into a ZIP file. See Export a Submittal.

Submittals PDF Markup Feature Temporarily Disabled (31/5/2019)

Customer success with our tools is our top priority. Accordingly, we have decided to roll back the release of the Submittal Markup feature in order to make some enhancements. These changes are based on customer feedback and will result in improved usability. We expect to reintroduce this feature shortly. In the interim, users who click on an attachment will be taken to a read-only viewer.

New! Integrated PDF Markup for Submittal Attachments (10/5/2019)

Procore has redesigned the attachment viewer in the project's Submittals tool to provide users with enhanced markup capabilities. Prior to this update, users who wanted to apply markups to an attachment were required to download the attached file, open it a third-party markup program (i.e., Adobe® Acrobat® or Bluebeam® Studio) and then upload the revision with the markup to a submittal. See Submittals: New! Integrated PDF Markup for Submittal Attachments.
