View the Budget for a Project in Portfolio Financials

 Note
The information in this tutorial applies to accounts with the Portfolio Financials product in Procore. Reach out to your Procore point of contact for more information.

Objective

To view the budget for a project in Portfolio Financials.

Background

The Budget tab within the Cost Tracker allows you to build project budgets with variances and anticipated costs. There are two different budgeting methods that you can use in Portfolio Financials: a broken down budget, which will allow you to assign budgets to individual cost items through the Cost Tracker, and an overall (lump sum) budget, where you have one amount for the entire project. Budgets must be published in order to show on the Cost Tracker and the Published Budget History window.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions:
    • 'Limited' access to the project or higher.
Note: Users with 'Limited' permissions can only view budgeted amounts for cost items that they have access to.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the Cost Tracker section of the Project Page.
  2. Click the Budget tab.
  3. View the budget.
  4. Click the arrow  icons in the Cost Item columns to view items within a section if necessary.
  5. Optional: Click the drop-down menu in the 'Published' column to view other published versions of the budget.
     Tip
If you want to view the published budget history, see View Published Budget History for a Project in Portfolio Financials.
