Sync and Download Documents from the Document Management Tool (iOS)

The Document Management tool is currently in a Limited Release (Beta). It is not yet available for Procore accounts in the United States. For more information, please reach out to your Procore point of contact.

Objective

To sync and download documents from the Document Management tool on the Procore iOS app. 

Background

The first time that you open a document in the Procore iOS app, it will sync to your device so that it can be quickly accessed at any time, even while in offline mode.

If you want to download the actual file to your device, you can use the "Save to Files" option. Currently, only documents without markup can be downloaded.

Steps

  1. Open the Procore app on an iOS mobile device.
  2. Tap the Document Management tool.
  3. The following actions are available:

Sync Documents

You can choose to sync specific documents to view in offline mode or sync a saved view to sync all documents in that view:

Sync a Document

  1. Find the document that you want to make available for offline use.
  2. Tap the download icon-download-cloud.png  icon. 
    The document will automatically sync to your device for offline use. 

Sync Documents in a Saved View

  1. Tap the For You tab.
    This shows a selection of your 'Recent Project Views' (views created for everyone on the project) and 'My Recent Views' (personal views created by you). 
  2. Find the saved view that you want to sync documents from.
    Note: If the saved view isn't in your Recent Views, tap See All for your project or personal views to see all saved views. 
  3. Tap the download icon-download-cloud.png  icon for the saved view. 
  4. All documents within the saved view will automatically sync to your device for offline use. 

Remove a Document

If you no longer need to access a certain document that's been synced, you can remove it from your device. This can free up space, but the document will need to sync again the next time you open it. 

  1. Find the document that you want to remove from your device.
  2. Tap the ellipsis icon-ellipsis-options-menu3.png  icon.
  3. Tap Remove from device. 
    The document is removed from your device and no longer synced. 

Download a Document

If you want to save a document to your device's files to open outside of the Procore app, you can download the actual file from the Document Management tool. 

 Important
Currently, documents with markup cannot be downloaded to your device. 
  1. Find the document that you want to download.
  2. Tap the document to open it in the viewer. 
  3. Tap the share icon.
  4. Tap Save to Files.
