Publish a New Revision of a Model from the Documents Tool
Objective
To publish a revision of a 3D model from Procore's Documents tool to the Models tool.
Background
Publishing a revision of a model to Procore is necessary when any changing any of the published model geometry, such as altering sectioning.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- You must have all of the following permissions:
- 'Admin' level permissions to the project's Models tool.
- 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions to the project's Documents tool.
- 'Read Only' or higher level permissions to the Drawings tool (if you want to add and map 2D drawings to the model).
- You must have all of the following permissions:
- Additional Information:
- This feature is not available in the Company level Documents tool.
Prerequisites
- The Models tool must be enabled for the project.
- The 3D model file must be uploaded to the Documents tool and have finished processing. See Upload Files or Folders to the Project Level Documents Tool and View and Download 3D Models in the Documents Tool.

Steps
- Navigate to the project's Documents tool.
- Locate the 3D model file that you want to publish to the Models tool.
- Right-click on the file and select Publish Model.
- On the 'Model Publishing' panel, find the model that you want to publish a new version of.
- Click the vertical ellipsis icon for the model and select Publish New Revision.
- Update information for the model as needed. See Publish a Model from the Documents Tool for details.
- When you're ready to publish the model, click Publish.
Note: The status of the models' publishing is shown on the 'In Progress' tab.- If you need to cancel the publishing, click Cancel.
- A banner will briefly show with a message that the model was successfully published.
- To view the published model in the model viewer, click the model in the panel. You can also open the model in the Models tool on Procore's web and mobile applications. See View a Model (Web), (iOS), or (Android).
