What is the difference between 'Resource Tracking' and 'Resource Management'?

Answer

In Procore, the term icon-external-link.png Resource Tracking refers to a Procore product and the term 'Resource Management' represents the Procore product category.

What is Resource Tracking?

In construction accounting, the term resource tracking is a measure of onsite execution that enables project teams to track progress against different scopes of work. It is also commonly referred to as the production rate or the amount of work that can be produced during a given period of time to remain on budget.

Example

The example below shows you how to calculate the production rate:

  • The output is the amount to be installed on a project. For example, 120 cubic yards of concrete.
  • The estimated amount of time to complete the work. For example, 30 labour hours.
  • The formula for calculating product rate is Output ÷ Input = Production Rate.
  • The required production rate to complete the work on budget is: 120 ÷ 30 = 4 cubic yards per hours
