Add Items to a Cost Catalogue from Estimating
Objective
To add items to a cost catalogue when creating or editing takeoffs or estimates.
Background
The Cost Catalogue tool in Procore is where all material information and values, ranging from individual parts to assembled items, are stored. A takeoff extracts quantities from a drawing or model and associates with items in your cost catalogue to create estimates. You can add items to your cost catalogue when you create or edit takeoffs or estimates.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions for the Tender Board tool.
- Required User Permissions for the Estimating tool.
- Required User Permissions for the Portfolio Planning tool.
- If your company is integrated with ERP, you can add cost codes from your ERP system.
Steps
- Navigate to the Tender Board or Portfolio Planning tool and select the project.
OR - Navigate to the project's Estimating tool.
- Click the Takeoff tab. Click Create New Takeoff Layer, then click Browse Catalog.
OR
Click the Estimating tab. Click the add item to group icon. - Click Add Item.
- Select the catalog that you want to add an item to.
Notes:- If you want to add a new catalog to add the item to, see Add a New Catalog to the Cost Catalogue.
- If you want to add a new category to add the item to, see Add a Category to the Cost Catalogue.
- Click Add Item.
- Click the Catadiary Item Type drop-down menu and select the type of item you want to add.
- Complete the fields as necessary.
Note: The fields that are shown are specific to the catadiary item type that you selected. - Click Save.
