Create Delay Entries
Objective
To create delay entries in the project's Site Diary tool.
Background
The Delays section allows you to track any delays that might occur or exist during the day.
Things to Consider
- Required User Permissions:
- 'Standard' or 'Admin' level permissions on the project's Site Diary tool.
- Additional Information:
- The Delays section must be enabled for the project. See Configure Advanced Settings: Site Diary.
- You can add custom delay types for the project, as well as disable or enable types. See Configure Advanced Settings: Site Diary.
- There is no limit to the number of delays you can create for a day. However, if you want to enter a delay that lasts over 24 hours, you will need to enter it on each day it impacts.
- Users with 'Admin' permission to the project's Directory tool can enable Delay email notifications for other users. See Edit a User Account in the Project Directory.
- Delays in the Site Diary can be reported on in the Project and Company level Reports tools. See Create a Custom Project Report.
- If you want to enter weather delays, you can also use the Observed Weather Conditions section. See Create Observed Weather Condition Entries.
Steps
- Navigate to the project's Site Diary tool.
- Scroll to the Delays section.
- Enter the following information:
- Delay Type: Select the type of delay.
Note: Delay type fields can be managed in the Site Diary's configure settings. - Start Time: Select the time the delay started using the hour and minute drop-down menus.
- End Time: Select the time the delay ended using the hour and minute drop-down menus.
Note: The Duration (Hours) field is calculated based on the Start Time and End Time entered. It will be entered automatically after saving your entry. - Location: Select a location from the Location drop-down menu. See Add Tiered Locations to a Project.
- Comments: Enter any comments to further describe the entry.
- Attachments: Attach any additional files to the entry. Drag and drop files from your computer to the Drag and Drop your File(s) area or click Upload Files to select files from your computer.
- Delay Type: Select the type of delay.
- Click Create.
