Also available on  ios-gray-icon.jpg  android-gray-icon.jpg

Objective

To close an existing RFI.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permission:
    • 'Admin' level permission on the project's RFIs tool.
      OR
    • 'Read Only' or 'Standard' level permissions on the project's RFIs tool with the 'Act as RFI Manager' granular permission enabled on your permissions template AND be the RFI's creator ('Standard' only) or RFI Manager.
  • Additional Information:
    • You can close an RFI whether or not it has any responses.
    • After you close an RFI, you are NOT permitted to add questions or responses.
    • If you want to reopen a closed RFI at a later time, see Reopen an RFI.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's RFIs tool.
  2. Click the Items tab. This lists all project's RFIs in the Draft and Open statuses. You can close an RFI in either status.
  3. Click View next to the RFI you want to close.
     Tip
Before you close the RFI, you can edit the Distribution List to add one or more users from the company in the Responsible Contractor field. See Edit an RFI. If the RFI email settings for the project are configured to send emails to users on an RFI's Distribution List when an RFI is closed, adding those users to the Distribution List will ensure they receive an email notification when the RFI is closed. See When does the RFIs tool send email notifications?
  4. Click Close RFI button at the top of the page.
  5. A green banner will appear to confirm the RFI has been closed.
