Site Diary - Release Notes

Ability to select Existing Photos from the Photos Tool (10/13/2026)

You can now select and attach existing photos directly from the Procore Photos tool to the Daily Log tool (Web). When adding images in the Photos section of the Daily Log, you have a new option to browse and select existing photos already uploaded to the project. You can filter project photos by album and select one or multiple images at once to attach directly to the log entry. This aligns the Daily Log workflow with other Procore tools (such as Punch List) that already support selecting existing photos. This enhancement removes the need to re-upload files or switch to the mobile app to share photos into the Daily Log. This speeds up the daily reporting process for field users and project managers by making all existing project photos readily accessible in one place. See Upload Photos to the Daily Log.

View Total Hours and Time Breakdown in Calendar View (10/13/2026)

You can now view an aggregated Total Hours metric directly on each day in the Daily Log calendar view (Web). When you hover over Total Hours, you can see a breakdown of total hours on the jobsite. This update provides an immediate, at-a-glance summary of total workforce hours across multiple daily log sources without needing to open individual logs. For example, you can see the breakdown of total hours for Manpower logs, Daily Construction Reports, or Timecards logs if all two or more sources exist on that day.
Previously, the calendar view only displayed Manpower hours, which under-reported workforce time for teams utilizing Timecards or DCR. This enhancement  provides project managers and field teams with an accurate, unified view of daily site labor directly from the calendar view. See View Daily Logs in the Calendar View.

Supported negative quantity in quantity log (15/09/2026)

The quantity log section in the Site Diary tool (Web) now supports negative quantity entries. Users can now log a negative quantity entry to record returns, corrections or reductions directly. Negative values are reflected in running totals and included accurately in quantity log reports, helping teams maintain accurate quantity tracking without workarounds. See Create quantity entries.

Company and location fields now available on all Site Diary types (18/08/2026)

New fields - company and location - are now available on all Site Diary types in the Site Diary tool (web and mobile). Previously, these fields were only visible on log types NOT using custom field sets (CFS). With this release, these fields are are now universally supported. This enhancement offers improved filtering and reporting capabilities. Project teams can create more consistent and accurate project documentation using structured data. Key highlights of this enhancement include:

• Full CFS compatibility: company and location fields are backfilled into existing custom field sets across all log types, so no fields are hidden due to configuration.

• Duplicate field detection : If a custom "company" or "location" field already exists in your configuration, the system automatically detects the conflict.

• Auto-disable to prevent duplication: When a duplicate is found, the new Procore default field is created but disabled by default, so existing configurations aren't disrupted.

• Consistent experience across all log types: Every Site Diary type now displays company and location fields uniformly.

Note: company and location fields are n/a to the Timecard log type. In addition, the company field is n/a to the Photos log type. See Site Diary.

Added segments (multiple logs per day) (18/08/2026)

Using the Site Diary tool (Web and mobile), you can now create and manage multiple site diaries within the same project on the same day. This enhancement introduces Segments, allowing teams to organise diary entries by location, phase, crew, shift or company — so documentation reflects how work is actually performed on site. This enhancement is compatible with 360 Reporting for aggregated, Project level analysis.

You can create multiple Daily Logs per project per day, each organized as a distinct Segment. Each segment supports its own independent entries for accurate, relevant data capture. You can assign locations to individual Segments — the location is prepopulated when creating entries from that Segment. You can view daily log segments in both List View and Calendar View. Project teams can also filter log views by Segment to focus on the logs most relevant to them. For example, superintendents can focus on their log segments without distraction from other parts of the project. In addition, PDF Exports (include Segment names, organized by Segment ) and Pagination (added to the Segments settings section) capabilities are supported for this enhancement. Email modernisation (18/08/2026)

Procore has modernised email notifications for the Site Diary tool across Web, iOS and Android in all regions. All Site Diary emails now follow a consistent new design system that notifies users of specific events—such as when a Site Diary is rejected, marked as complete or when a weather delay is logged. The Site Diary email updates improves information hierarchy and increases actionability with clearer calls to action.

Project teams can quickly understand Site Diary updates, take clear action and jump directly into Procore to follow up without confusion. By improving response times, teams can make faster, smarter decisions to keep projects on schedule. The updated email layouts are also easier to scan and interact with on any device, significantly enhancing readability and usability. Added a sticky toolbar for project management (18/08/2026)

The Site Diary tool (Web) now contains a sticky toolbar that remains visible as you scroll through your diary entries. The date, applied filters and selected segment stay in view at all times — so you never lose context while working through a busy log. Previously, scrolling through lengthy Site Diary entries caused the toolbar to disappear, making it difficult to track which date, filters or segment you were viewing. You had to scroll back to the top to reorient — interrupting your workflow.
The Site Diary is one of the most frequently used tools on a jobsite and entries build up quickly. This update cuts out unnecessary navigation so project managers and site managers can work faster and more intuitively. See View a Site Diary in the list view.

updated site diary company admin pages (21/07/2026)

Procore is updating the Company Admin pages for the Site Diary tool (Web) with the modernised UI experience. The Site Diary admin pages now provide a more unified user experience and improved operational efficiency.

Improved Filtering Experience (08/06/2026)

Procore has improved how the Site Diary tool (web) responds to applied filters, so both data calculations and table visibility now dynamically reflect your filtered results. The tool now displays relevant results instead of showing every log type even when there are no matches. This enhancement highlights the following:

• Filter-aware manpower totals: When filters are applied, manpower totals (hours and workers) now recalculate to reflect only the matching logs. This works across single-select, multi-select and combined filters.

• Contextual log type visibility: Only log type tables with matching results are displayed when filters are active. Tables with no matching data are automatically hidden until filters are cleared. If no results match any filter, a clear empty state is shown.

Previously, manpower totals always reflected the full dataset regardless of filters and all log type tables remained visible even when irrelevant. This made it harder to trust totals, increased scrolling and created confusion when focusing on a specific subset of data. These improvements give you a clearer, more accurate and streamlined filtered view — especially useful for high-volume projects. See Search for and Filter the Site Diary.

ADDED THE BULK DELETE OPTION (12/05/2026)

A new bulk delete option has been added to the Site Diary tool (web). This new Delete option is available in the Bulk Actions side panel of the Site Diary tool. When you select multiple diary entries using the tickbox column, you can now choose Delete from the Bulk Actions panel to remove several entries at a time.
This enhancement is designed for teams managing high volumes of site diary entries (for example, 50–100+ per day), where deleting one entry at a time creates unnecessary friction. The bulk delete option streamlines cleanup of copied or erroneous logs, reducing administrative overhead and improving workflow efficiency for Main Contractors working in in high-volume log environments. Added Date Picker to the Calendar View (27/01/2026)

A new date picker has been added to the Calendar View page in the Site Diary tool (Web only). This enhancement allows you to quickly select specific dates, months and years. It improves navigation, especially when accessing dates far in the past (for example, January 2025). It also enhances visibility and overall usability. The existing arrow buttons for adjacent month navigation are still available. See View Site Diaries in the Calendar View for more information.

ADDED ANCHOR NAVIGATION MENU FOR ENHANCED USABILITY (18/12/2025)

Procore has added a new anchor navigation menu to the List view in the Site Diary tool (web only). This menu allows you to quickly navigate between individual log types on the List view page without excessive scrolling. It displays all log types as clickable links (based on Project and Company settings) and remains visible on the left side of the List view page while scrolling. This enhancement also provides a cleaner and more structured interface (Web), improving overall usability. See View a Site Diary in the List View.

Customisable Site Diary Names for Consistent Terminology (23/10/2025)

Procore has introduced the customization of Site Diary names at the company level. This customization addresses the challenge of inflexible naming conventions that previously limited usability of the Site Diary tool.  Using the new Custom Name column within the Site Diary settings in the Admin tool, you can rename or customise the default Site Diary names for all projects. The customization of Site Diary names enables you to:

• Align with your company's unique terminology for clarity and consistency.

• Tailor the Site Diary tool to your specific needs and utilise the tool more effectively.

• Streamline operational workflows for your project teams.

Improved Comments Field on site diaries (23/10/2025)

Procore has enhanced the comments field in Site Diary entries by standardizing its height and introducing dynamic resizing for easier note entry. The improved comments field allows site managers, project engineers and admins to capture and review detailed notes more efficiently, reducing time spent on formatting and improving overall usability.

Enhanced "Go To Today" Button in Site Diary (23/09/2025)

Procore has improved the "Today" button in the Site Diary to enhance clarity and usability, allowing users to easily recognise its purpose and quickly navigate back to the current date. 

Configurable and Custom Fields Available on More Log Types (18/02/2025)

The Site Diary tool now supports configurable fieldsets and custom fields on more log types. For details, see What are configurable fieldsets and which tools support them? and What are custom fields and which tools support them?

new Quick Create Option on Site Diary (18/02/2025)

With this enhancement, you can reduce time scrolling. Simply click the 'Create' button at the top of the Site Diary and select a log type. Then, the system navigates you to the section of the log you selected from the 'Create' menu. Fill in the log as needed. See Create Site Diary Items for details.

new 'Copy Log' Granular permission (16/12/2024)

Procore has introduced a new Granular Permission for the 'Copy' feature within the Site Diary, allowing Standard and Read Only users to efficiently replicate daily entries without requiring Admin level access. To learn more, see Copy a Site Diary.

Collaborator Entry added to more Site Diary Types (16/12/2024)

Support for the Collaborator Entry feature has been added to the following Site Diary Types: Programmed Work, Productivity, Phone Calls, Inspections, Safety Violations, Plan Revisions, Accidents, Quantities, Equipment, Skip, Waste, Delays.  To learn more about Collaborator Entry, see Create Site Diary Entries as a Collaborator.

Modernised Settings Experience (15/10/2024)

Improved Time Inputs in the Procore Web Application (20/06/2024)

Procore has added the ability to input time entries on logs in precise hour and minute increments in the web application. Previously, input for time entries on diary items could only be entered in five (5) minute increments.  

New Granular Permission for Collaborators (17/10/2023)

Procore has added a new granular permission for the Site Diary tool that allows collaborators to see site diary entries made by other collaborators at their same company. Learn more by reading the announcement or see What granular permissions are available for the project's Site Diary tool?
